ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Staffing and managing the workforce in the Engineering department
- Managing departments to the highest standards and efficiencies
- Investing in succession planning
- Facilitating the safest work environment for all employees and the public
- Monitor and manage training programs for the Engineering department
- Manage peripheral projects
- As a part of the Cooperative leadership, set short- and long-term goals
- Continuously test and evaluate practices and methods to ensure the Cooperative adopts the most effective strategies to remain an industry leader
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises Distribution System Engineer, Project Engineer, Meter Technician I, Meter Technician II, GIS Coordinator, and Staking Engineer
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an equivalent of the following education and/or experience.
- BA/BS Degree or Advanced Degree with minimum 10 years industry experience preferred
- Technical Degree with minimum 15 years of industry experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

General:
- Employee shall be trained in, and be familiar with, the safety related work practices, safety procedures and other safety requirements in the safety manual that pertain to their respective job assignments
- Thorough knowledge of Cooperative policies, practices, and programs
- Must exhibit a high standard of excellence in following company policies like but not limited to safety and attendance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; frequently required to act based on own interpretation of policies and practices
- Ability to interact frequently and effectively with others, both in person and through phone, e-mail, and written correspondence
- Must be able to successfully handle emotional stress of working with members and employees who may be irate, angry, crying, boisterous or personally insulting
- Must be proficient in speaking English
- Ability to effectively use computer, office equipment, and specific equipment related to this position
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 products related to this position, as well as other software utilized by REMC
- Must be able to deal discreetly with confidential information
- Ability to apply craft techniques, processes and principles associated with this position
- Must participate in and be certified in Annual CPR & Periodic First Aid Training
- Must possess a Valid Indiana Driver’s License
