Indiana Electric Cooperatives exists to support 38-member cooperatives with the tools and resources they need to operate safely, efficiently, and legally. The role of regulatory consultant is to support member electric cooperatives in their efforts to comply with federal, state, and local regulations by developing and implementing compliance policies and programs; providing regulatory training and guidance, maintaining regulatory documentation, facilitating regulatory auditing and submitting required reports to ensure participating members maintain compliance with established standards. This position requires routine travel throughout Indiana. A company car is provided.

The regulatory consultant must hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health, safety, public health, or a related field or have equivalent work experience. The successful candidate will preferably have three to five years of direct work experience involving the review, interpretation, and program response to federal, state, and local regulation. Preference will be given to candidates with electric utility experience and/or the following certifications: Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Utility Safety Administrator (CUSA), Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and OSHA Trainer Certification.
The candidate will thrive in an independent working environment and still be able to independently meet deadlines and produce results. Routine in-state travel is required.
