The cooperative is headquartered in Martinsville, Indiana located just 30 minutes south of Indianapolis airport and 20 minutes north of Bloomington Indiana off I-69. SCI REMC serves over 3,646 miles of energized lines. SCI REMC has 150 highly valued, member-focused employees.
Key Responsibilities
- to work with the IT Team to provide efficient, effective, and secure information technology to all network users in order to assist in accomplishing South Central Indiana REMC’s business technology requirements.
- to identify, analyze, and implement hardware and software technology needed to support a dependable networked information processing environment for staff use.
- to architect, install, upgrade, maintain, and administer server, desktop, and network hardware as well as software, and peripherals for secure staff use; and
- to monitor, analyze, and remediate IT assets (hardware and software) for performance and cybersecurity.

After 1 full year or daily reporting to the office, a hybrid arrangement of working in office at least three days a week might be offered. Details will be discussed in an interview. This is not a REMOTE position, candidates must live within a reasonable commute distance or planning to move within a reasonable distance to respond to system outages and hardware issues.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent credits with specialization in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience. Bachelor’s degree or extensive learning experiences preferred. Professional certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, VMWare, or equivalent are highly desired.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of seven years’ work experience in network and system administration or a related position. Must have a demonstrated ability to architect and maintain an organization’s LAN/WAN enterprise network, virtualized infrastructure, cybersecurity stack, and disaster recovery solutions (that adhere to RTO/RPOs) over multiple sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be capable of providing efficient and effective information technology to all network users in order to assist in accomplishing South Central Indiana REMC’s business technology requirements.
- Must be able to architect, analyze, design, implement, and troublshoot hardware and software technology needed to support a dependable virtualized servers, firewalls, as well as LAN and WAN networked information processing environment for staff use.
- Must be familiar with PCI, NIST CSF, CIS Controls and other industry compliance and standards and be able to implement technologies to achieve compliance.
- Experience with network security, ACLs, and firewall management
- Must be capable of installing, upgrading, maintaining, and administering desktop hardware, software, and peripherals for staff use.
- Must be able to monitor and analyze network resources (hardware, software, traffic) and performance.
- Must be capable of detecting and remediating Cybersecurity threats with security tools (SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability scanners, etc.)
- Must be capable of architecting, building, and maintaining middleware integrations to multiple enterprise software applications and SaaS solutions.
- Experience with programming and scripting for automation of IT and cybersecurity processes.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to assume responsibility, exercise sound judgement, and coach other team members.
- Ability to work independently and with the IT team to execute highly technical and complex tasks.
- Maintain a valid Indiana Vehicle Operator’s License.
- Must be able to work effectively on a daily basis with a variety of individuals with little supervision
- Self-motivated to take ownership of assigned projects to meet deadlines.
- Ability to learn and adapt to innovative technologies and compliance standards
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Must be regular in work attendance.
