Hendricks Power Cooperative is now accepting applications for an experienced Manager of Finance & Accounting to lead and oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal control functions of the Cooperative. Hendricks Power is a rural electric cooperative in Avon, Indiana that focuses on distributing electric service to members in four counties.
The Manager of Finance & Accounting ensures financial operations align with strategic goals and comply with applicable principles, standards and policies. Major responsibilities include: support and supervision to the accounting/ finance department; oversee accounts payable/ receivable, miscellaneous receivable, bank reconciliation, general ledger and cash flow management; analyze and present financial reports to management and the board of directors; manage short-and long-term borrowing and investing activities; monitor financial trends and recommend data-driven strategic solutions; interpret performance drivers and deliver financial insights using forecasting models, rate analysis and revenue requirements; oversee annual operating and capital budget development; and implement best practices and process improvement initiatives. This person will help with various preparations including financial statements and tax returns.
Preferred candidates will possess the qualifications listed below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial management or related role, with at least 2 years in leadership
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- CPA or CMA designation preferred
- Familiarity with electric utility accounting, rate structures and reporting preferred

- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and present to executive team and board of directors
- Comfortable working inside a deadline-driven office environment with the physical ability to sit for extended periods
- Advanced math skills and the ability to perform complex financial calculations
- Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
