Boone Power is seeking a Warehouseman to join our Operations team.
The Warehouseman is responsible for the accurate control, receipt, storage, and distribution of company materials and supplies. This role ensures inventory records are properly maintained, stock levels are adequate to support operations and vendors, and the warehouse is kept safe, organized, secure, and accessible to promote efficient material handling and accurate inventory management.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Material Control
Accurately receive, inspect, record, store, and issue materials, tools, equipment, and safety supplies
Process pick tickets and document materials issued to work orders or accounts
Handle returns, salvageable materials, warranty claims, and surplus items
Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, and verify stock against records
Assist with labeling, packaging, shipping, and material documentation to ensure timely delivery and compliance
Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications
Warehouse & Yard Operations
Maintain storeroom, garage, and pole yard in a safe, clean, organized, and accessible condition
Organize and store materials to maximize efficiency and ensure proper stock levels
Remove obsolete or unusable materials and coordinate updates to inventory records
Transport materials to jobsites as needed
Perform forklift inspections and assist with loading/unloading materials and equipment
Support maintenance of rubber goods, retired transformers, and related recycling/disposal processes
Assist with hazardous material documentation and Material Safety Data Sheet routing
Support facility upkeep, including snow and ice removal and dumpster coordination
Ensure safe handling, storage, and movement of materials in compliance with company and regulatory standards

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledgeable of RUS specifications and assemblies as well as the National Electric Code is preferred; previous work experience in a cooperative distribution system helpful.
Must be able to use office equipment such as computer, keyboard, copier, printer, fax machine, etc. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
Valid Indiana driver’s license required.
Must be able to attain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), CDL beneficial.
Valid forklift operator certification.
Ability to travel daily throughout the assigned service territory.
