The staking/engineering technician is responsible for investigating, surveying and staking electric distribution lines according to construction specifications and for preparing staking sheets.
Essential Functions
Design powerlines and structures to comply with NESC guidelines.
Advise members regarding new electric service, service upgrades, and relocation of existing facilities.
Stake jobs based on member input, supervisor recommendations and personal experience and knowledge.
Design and prepare staking sheets to show how jobs are to be constructed and/or rebuilt.
Inspect completed work orders in the field to make sure the staking sheets reflect the work done.
Occasionally stake and design work plan jobs. This includes lines to be rebuilt due to growth and/or age of infrastructure.
Assist with outage restoration during storms by directing crews, drawing work orders and with damage assessment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Support REMC public and community relation activities through coordination and participation.
Represent REMC with professionalism during all member and community interactions.
Apply REMC policies and guidelines with fairness, consistency, and accuracy.
