Assist in the construction, maintenance, operation and inspection of electrical distribution systems.
Perform assigned duties safely and efficiently in accordance with established policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and climbing.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the electric utility industry or successful completion of a recognized power line school.
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic computer proficiency.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
Apprenticeship Requirements
The successful candidate must be willing to enroll in and successfully complete, an approved four-year power line apprenticeship program that includes both classroom instruction and structured on-the-job training. Candidates must also be willing to train and become a certified line climber.
Additional Requirements
This is a full-time bargaining unit position with on-call responsibilities, including evenings, weekends, and emergency response as needed.
A residency requirement applies. Employees must reside within a 20-mile radius of the reporting office.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
